Buildings made for people
perform better.
Who we are
neuecon was founded in 2026 by Markus Hölzl, Daiana Zamler and Christian Huser. We work from Tegernsee and Madrid, in German, English and Spanish. We believe that people do their best work in buildings that are good to them.

Markus Hölzl
Architecture, networkMarkus Hölzl is an architect. He works where buildings meet organisations and communities. In an engagement he leads the work with your organisation, covering who you are, what you are for and what the project has to achieve. Markus runs the three workshops, and he is usually the one who finds the decision nobody has admitted is already made.

Daiana Zamler
Architecture (PhD), health and designDaiana Zamler holds a doctorate in architecture and specialised in environmental psychology. She leads the scientific work, assessing what the research supports and turning it into design priorities for each project.

Christian Huser
Strategy, concept, dataChristian Huser built and runs the ontology that connects published research to architectural and economic decisions. He edits The Built Review. The ontology is what lets a finding be traced from a decision back to the study it came from.
Who we work with
We work with organisations whose income depends on what people do inside the building. They come to a building decision because something else happened first. They grow, they shrink, they move, or a lease runs out. The building has to serve that.
We do not work with organisations that want a new face over an unchanged organisation: the same infrastructure, the same habits, the same culture, better photographed. We are also the wrong advisor for transactional development, where the building is sold before anyone works in it. Nothing we do would change that outcome, and the incentives point the other way.
ConcreteHuman
Neuecon and The Built Review started Concrete Human, a photography exhibition on how the built environment affects human health.

The Built Review is the evidence base this practice works from. Christian edits it. It holds more than 15,000 published studies, and each finding names its study, its DOI, its grade and the studies that contradict it.
